Assistant Financial Controller - Darlington, PA

As our Assistant Financial Controller you will be a true ‘Business Partner’ working with the US Controller guiding the business towards its strategic objectives by overseeing; Financial Procedures and Statutory Compliance; Budget and Reporting; Taxes and Process change; and the Treasury and Banking Relationships necessary to run the business in the most effective way. As the Assistant Financial Controller USA at DESOTEC, you’ll get the chance to…

·         Conduct monthly and yearly closings for the US business in compliance with legal requirements

·         Work closely with the team in Europe, supporting the consolidation of the different entities and for the consolidated reporting to all stakeholders (bank & shareholder reporting);

·         Take responsibility for the accounting and the financial reporting of the US hubs (in close collaboration with our local partners) and the transfer pricing streams.

·         Be responsible for audits, tax and subsidy requests/follow up

·         Ensure compliance with legal, tax and statutory requirements

·         Support a team of +/- 4 finance colleagues (including the AR/AP team and eventually senior accountants as the team grows

·         Drive continuous improvement, optimization, and documentation of financial and accounting processes

·         Support the finance transformation efforts at US headquarters and locations by transitioning from transactional into strategic business-partner operating mode

·         Help with ERP Implementation; defining financial processes including GL,AP,AR, controlling and analysis for local and group level

Who are you as the Assistant Financial Controller in the USA at DESOTEC?

·         You have minimum of 10+ years of experience in Accounting and Controlling within an industrial international company; College degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or similar field. You are an experienced team leader and a true team player

·         You have solid US GAPP, IFRS, consolidation and tax experience

·         You have experience with taxes and fully understand US tax laws

·         You are hands-on, proactive, and reliable with strong analytical skills

·         You have a discrete, independent, and critical approach

·         You are very strong with Excel

·         Preferred: you have experience with Navision or Microsoft Dynamics
