Sustainable Carbon Filtration Company is looking for an experienced Electromechanical Design Engineer for our Western PA Manufacturing Facility!

What are we looking for in an Electromechanical Design Engineer:

  • Designing Electromechanical Systems: Creating detailed plans and specifications for systems that integrate electrical and mechanical components related to our production needs.  This may include projects like control panel upgrades (hardware and/or software), mechanical systems (conveying systems), and various instrumentation replacements/upgrades.

  • Component Selection and Integration: Selection of appropriate electrical and mechanical components for designs and integrate them into cohesive systems. This requires a thorough understanding of both electrical and mechanical principles.

  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: When issues arise during the development or operation of electromechanical systems, troubleshoot problems and devise solutions to resolve them, working closely with Plant Operations, Maintenance, and QESH teams. This may involve diagnosing electrical or mechanical faults and implementing corrective measures.

  • Collaboration with Cross-disciplinary Teams: Collaborate with professionals from other disciplines, such as software engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing specialists, to ensure that projects are completed successfully.  These professions could include external contractors, subcontractors, etc... as well as internal (domestic and international) stakeholders.

  • Ensuring Compliance with Regulations and Standards: Work closely with QESH to ensure that designs comply with relevant industry and environmental regulations and standards, such as safety codes and performance specifications.

  • Continuous Improvement: Work to improve the efficiency, reliability, and performance of electromechanical systems through ongoing research, development, and innovation.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Document the design process, test results, and other relevant information to maintain records and communicate with stakeholders. This includes preparing reports, drawings, and technical documentation using typical applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk (AutoCAD and Inventor), etc...

  • Project Engineering: serve as the technical and business lead for each of your assigned projects, coordinating all activities between external contractors and internal stakeholders.  This includes the selection of subcontractors, vendors, etc... based on review of capabilities, solution offering, and safety record, but not limited to only thereof.
